How to minimize energy loss during an energy transfer between a source and a receiver

Patrick Cornille

Abstract

In this paper, we review the problem of charging a capacitor with a new approach. We will study how to minimize the energy transfer between the power supply and the capacitor
by choosing a voltage with a specific time behavior. We will introduce a new stepping method
to charge a capacitor that almost cancel the resistive losses. We will for the first time explain
the mathematical reasons why an irreversible process becomes reversible by such a method.
